The following features are available through WebCIS if you see patients randomized to IDEATels intervention arm. Look for the corresponding links within each patients WebCIS file.
Home Blood Pressure Measurements.
In the scroll down menu at the left hand side of the screen click on the Self Rep VS link. The initial window gives you a list of blood pressure and pulse rate measurements uploaded to the system. To look at an individual measurement click on one of the Vital Signs by Patient links. Once a set of values is displayed, clicking on any of the links at the left (Systolic BP, Diastolic BP, or Pulse) opens up a chronological display of measurements.
Home Fingerstick Blood Glucose Measurements.
Click on the Self Rep Lab link, and then click on any of the FS Glucose by Patient links to look at individual measurements. To display all uploaded values click on the FS Gluc link that appears at the left of an individual measurement. From there you can also graph the data to examine glucose values at different times of the day (Modal Graph) or longitudinal trends over weeks (Line Graph).
Nurse Case Manager Notes.
Click on the Notes link, and look for the IDEATEL FOLLOW-UP VISIT NOTE link. We hope you find the clinical recommendations useful.
Secure Messaging System.
To ensure that your IDEATel intervention patients benefit from their hard work, we need your feedback about the information and clinical recommendations you receive. An easy way to reach us is through IDEATels HIPAA-compliant secure messaging system. To access it, click on the IDEATel link; it is right below the Amicas link in the left hand side scroll down menu. When you are directed to the IDEATel website, please re-enter your WebCIS username and password. If your username and password are not recognized, please contact the technical support team (see item 7 below). Once inside the CommuniHealth Diabetes site, just click on the Message Center link at the bottom of the page. Then click on the New Message box to send messages to the Nurse Case Managers.
Other E-mail Systems.
You may also contact us using your "regular" e-mail system. Given that most such systems are not fully HIPAA compliant, please refer to your patients by their initials and medical record number only. The endocrinologist supervising the diabetes care in
the intervention arm is:
